Fiskars establishes a global sourcing function in Bangkok

Fiskars Corporation, a leading supplier of consumer products for the home, garden and outdoors, has chosen to base its global sourcing function in Bangkok in line with the company’s integrated company strategy. A global sourcing function close to main supply markets will facilitate Fiskars new product development and quality assurance processes, and further strengthen Fiskars collaboration with its suppliers, thus adding value to business and enhancing Fiskars international competitiveness.
Locating the global sourcing office near the supplier network will also ensure continuous improvement in promoting corporate responsibility and sustainability within the supply network, including the implementation and follow up of Fiskars Supplier Code of Conduct and development of operating models in co-operation with suppliers.
Fiskars has appointed Mikael Demitz-Helin as Sourcing Director to head the global sourcing team. Mikael Demitz-Helin has an extensive background in global sourcing of consumer goods and he has worked several years in Asia. Fiskars has also appointed a global Quality and Sustainability Manager, whose responsibilities in addition to group-wide quality strategy and procedures involve the definition and management of sustainability strategy within Fiskars supply network.
In accordance with Fiskars operations strategy, Fiskars has developed a network of external suppliers to complement in-house manufacturing. Fiskars sets high standards for its own and its suppliers’ operations, and expects all its suppliers to follow Fiskars Supplier Code of Conduct. Suppliers are seen as Fiskars’ long-term partners and they are selected on the basis of their capability to support Fiskars’ quality, supply chain, cost, and new product development targets by continuously developing their operations. Fiskars personnel in the regional sourcing offices located in Bangkok and Shanghai, the global sourcing team and business areas work directly and in close co-operation with suppliers.
