Fiskars Group head office to move to Keilaniemi, Espoo

The Fiskars Group head office will move to Keilaniemi at the beginning of 2022. The new building will be planned together with employees according to sustainable principles to help match the company’s evolving needs and to support the wellbeing of personnel.

At the beginning of 2022, the Fiskars Group head office in Helsinki will relocate to Keilaniemi in Espoo, where the company will be leasing a new building.

“Inspiring people is one of our strategic priorities. Our aim is to provide people a modern work environment that offers spaces for collaboration, quiet tasks, team work, informal interactions, and creating ideas. The work environment will be planned together with our people, so they can do their best work in a setting that supports their wellbeing. Our aim is to make it easier for people to create contacts across functions and teams,” explains Niklas Lindholm, Chief People Officer of Fiskars Group.

The company’s present location has a special significance, particularly for the Arabia brand. The lease agreement in Arabianranta is coming to an end, and the current offices would have required extensive modifications. The move to the new building will offer a cost-effective solution.

The building, which will be constructed by NCC, is to be located in the immediate proximity of the Keilaniemi metro station. It has been designed by architects Antti-Matti Siikala and Riku Huopaniemi of SARC architects.

Special attention will be paid to integrating sustainable principles into the new building. Its carbon footprint will be calculated, and during the planning process, special attention has been paid toward the adaptability of the spaces and material and energy efficiency. NCC plans to certify the project at an Excellent rating according to the international BREEAM sustainability assessment system, as the aim is to plan and to build a structure that will be ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable for long-term use.

Approximately 400 employees work at Fiskars Group’s current head office. The new building is estimated to be ready at the end of 2021.
