Fiskars Group to reduce working hours of office personnel due to COVID-19
Fiskars Group continues to take proactive steps to mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 on its operations globally. Working hours are planned to be reduced among office personnel, subject to local legislation. In total, approximately 1,500 employees globally are expected to be affected by these plans.
Employee consultations will be initiated in selected countries. In Finland, Fiskars will begin employee consultations on temporary layoffs for a maximum of 90 days, impacting 404 employees in the country.
The salaries of the members of the Fiskars Group Leadership Team and the compensation of the Board of Directors will be temporarily cut, while both FGLT and the Board of Directors continue to work full time to intensively drive the business forward.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact societies around the world. Consequently, consumer demand in Fiskars Group’s key markets in some categories has been negatively impacted. To mitigate the impact of the situation, Fiskars Group has already earlier implemented measures, such as temporary layoffs as well as store and factory closures. In some countries store and factory operations have restarted.
The health and wellbeing of employees and customers are a key priority for Fiskars Group. The business situation will be continuously monitored, and further actions will be taken as needed.
